Blockers is an abstract tile-laying game with simple rules but great depth. Your goal is to create as few groups of tiles as possible by the end of the game.
Each turn, players place one of their five tiles on a 9x9 grid and draw a new tile to replace it. Each tile contains a number, letter, or symbol. A number can only be placed in the column with the corresponding number, a letter can only be placed in the row with the corresponding number, and a symbol can only be placed in the 3x3 area with the same symbol.
If another player has placed a tile, you may replace it, provided you don't create any additional groups for your opponent. At the end of the game, you receive 1 penalty point for each group you created, and your penalty points are equal to the number of tiles of the color from which you replaced the most tiles. This is your final score. The player with the fewest penalty points wins the game.
