The Incredible Animal Circus

The incredible animal circus is coming to your home! The animal performers are trained and ready to perform the most amazing stunts for you. But you'd better make sure you only send performers into the circus ring who can surpass their previous performance. Because if they don't, the previous performer will walk away with all the glory.

Each player receives 22 animal cards, each with a value and a unique ability. Players take turns sending an animal to the circus ring. You can only do this if you can surpass the previous animal's performance (play a higher value). If you succeed, you activate your animal's ability, and the next player takes their turn. If someone fails to surpass the previous performance, the player who last added an animal to the ring wins the entire ring, and the active player starts a new ring.
The animals' activities can provide many surprises, and it's important to keep track of which animals might appear to increase your chances of winning. This is the typical game where you initially think it's all about luck, but after a few games, you learn how to steer your luck a bit.
We discovered several fun games during the design competition, but the reason we chose this one as the winner is because it's a very accessible game with simple rules, but there's much more to consider than meets the eye.
